Heavy-Duty Vertical Sump Performance

The Solanzo SVSL Vertical Slurry Pump is a single-stage, single-suction vertical centrifugal pump engineered for sump and pit service with abrasive slurries containing suspended solids. Its robust double-casing metallic wet end and vertical cantilever shaft arrangement support reliable operation in demanding industrial environments.

Engineered for Abrasive Slurry Duty

  • Impact resistance: Metallic wetted construction resists particle strike at high-energy surfaces.

  • Controlled abrasion: Optimized passages transport suspended solids with reduced localized recirculation.

  • Corrosion resistance: Stainless, duplex and super-duplex material options can be matched to process chemistry.

  • Hydraulic stability: Correct duty-point selection limits vibration, uneven wear and solids accumulation.

Operating Envelope

The SVSL series covers flows from 9.9 to 364 m³/h, total dynamic heads from 1.8 to 45.5 m, motor powers from 1.1 to 45 kW and rotational speeds from 590 to 1,480 r/min. Discharge sizes range from 50 to 150 mm, with a maximum medium temperature of 60°C.

Nominal concentration capability is up to 45% for fly-ash slurry and up to 60% for mineral slurry. Published values define the series envelope; the final duty point remains subject to application engineering review.

Typical Applications

  • Mineral-processing sumps and floor pits

  • Metallurgical process drainage

  • Coal-preparation sumps

  • Power-generation ash handling

  • Aggregate, sand and building-material slurry transfer

  • Abrasive wastewater collection

  • Continuous pit dewatering with suspended solids

Selection and Configuration

Final selection must consider hydraulic duty, slurry density and viscosity, solids concentration, particle characteristics, process chemistry, NPSHa, system resistance, installation geometry, site conditions and operating profile. Model-specific dimensional drawings are supplied for the selected installation configuration.
